PlayStation 3 80GB Review

The PS3 is great Blueray player, an excellent DVD upscaler, and can also (through streaming or a usb harddrive) can do photos, mp3s, or movies in divx or mp4 format.

If you have a PSP there is tons of surprising cross functionality through a feature called "remote play"

The console is sturdy, slick looking, and incredibly powerful. It doesn't get hot, and this new sku uses less power than the launch skus. It does not have any know reliability issues, unlike the XBOX 360.

The major downside, its game library, is a lot better now than it was a year ago. It has great exclusives like Litte Big Planet, Resistance 1 and 2, and Metal Gear Solid 4, and a ton of the big games this fall that are on XBOX are also on PS3 (Dead Space, Fallout 3, Rock Band 2, etc.)

I've had mine (which is this new sku) for several weeks now and I am very pleased with my purchased.

Just to note, this model (and all PS3s going forward) do not play PS2 games (they do play PS1 games), but it wasn't a big deal for me. Most people (over 100 million sold) already have a PS2, so I just kept mine hooked up, and bought component cables to hook it up to my hdtv.

By the way, if you don't have an hdtv, there isn't a lot of reason to have this, unless there is a game you really want to play.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 80GB.
