I'm 31 and haven't been this excited about video games since I was about 9 years old...
I stuck with my PS2 for what seemed like forever, I didn't think PS3 would be worth the money but I'm so happy I got this thing along with a 50" plasma.
I can remember when the good old 8-bit NES was king...I was a little kid so excited about video games. My friend would sleep over at my place, the next morning on a Saturday I can remember getting up really early and walking 2 miles to the video rental store just to rent a couple games. We were looking specifically for 'kung-fu' and 'rush 'n attack', and 'mike tyson's punch out!' if it was in stock but everyone else always had rented it before us.
We left so early we had to wait a few hours for the place to open heh heh, and we'd spend a good amount of time just looking at the back of the boxes of the games checking out the pictures and reading game descriptions...
I'm just trying to paint a picture here....back then video games were so much fun, and after those days the feeling was lost.
Fast-forward to a few years ago, PS2 was great but 'that feeling' still not there.
So now I got my tax return and picked up a 50" plasma and a PS3. WOW. Games are fun again, PSNetwork has so many demos to download amongst many other things like videos etc....gaming is fun again sort of like it was back then.
Blu-rays look amazing...video chat will come in handy when it comes time for me to deploy I don't have to buy an expensive cell phone with worldwide coverage or anything like that, I plan on picking up another PS3 and I can video chat during my deployments with my family that way :) :) :)
When I got God of War II for the PS2 I thought I would be happy with the PS2 for a long long time. I didn't understand how much better games could get. Boy was I wrong, Bioshock looks amazing and is a lot of fun.
Get the PS3 along with a few games and blu-ray movies and have fun with your tv again.

I bought this system on November 23rd, 2007. The first few months gone by with no problems, then my game strated crashing. At first I thought it might be game disk who is at fault, but as I continue playing, system crashed more and more often. It doesnt matter which game I play, it will eventually crash or freeze often during heated online battles.
As of today, Febuary 8, 2007, just 14 months, I had to send it to SCEA for repairs. They charged me [,,,] plus tax for thier service since my limited warranty expires after 12 months. I have heard other similar incident and very disappointed with Sony's quality control on this system. I'm willing to give them one more try and see how long this repair is going to last. Eventhough my PS 2 is old but it still works after so many years of abuse, what happen to PS 3? Get more detail about PlayStation 3 80GB.

It looks good and works great. I wish it had IR to work with my Universal 880 remote. With the Logitech keyboard, the internet is fun but doesn't always work as well as Microsoft. It provides many hours of fun though.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 80GB.

+Blu-ray Player
+Media Hub
+Best Hardware Game System
I dropped out of gaming for the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube generation, but I'm back again and I really enjoy the PS3. It has more staying power than the Wii (I got one a couple of years ago, and enjoyed a few games on it, but it just doesn't have the diverse capabilities that this generation's game systems/media devices should)
My only caveat: The PS3 is very much like PC Gaming with all the updates you may have to install for games; however, it is worth it in the long run to have an optimized gaming experience.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 80GB.

The PS3 is the ideal console for the average gamer. It can play all new PS3 games, many PS2 and PS1 games, and plays Blu-ray disks. It also is very well constructed, much quieter than the xbox 360, and offers many great games for gamers that enjoy a large genre of games. The 400 dollar price tag is very reasonable considering all it can do. Buy it, you will be so glad you did.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 80GB.

This is the best gaming system in history, and the best DVD player I have ever had, and I have had many. And to top it all off it is a Blu-ray player. And it is an amazing Blu-ray player.

I am still up for debate whether to buy a ps3 or xbox360.I like that the 360 plays the music you put on it but i was wondering if the ps3 has this feature?? Also i heard a lot of xbox's fail. But the 360 online play has achievements, i dunot know if ps3 does, and more people play it.Get more detail about PlayStation 3 80GB.
