This is for the international customers !
i bought this unit, its model number is cechk01 , dated: August 2008.
i took it overseas (out of the US). the voltage in my country is 220v.
a lot of posts in the forms state that the PS3 has a universal power supply that supports both 110 and 220 - while on the label on the unit, it will only state 110v.
so i watched some youtube movies, and figured out how to open the unit (note: you LOSE your warrenty if you open the unit !!!)
i opened it up, and released the power supply. on it's bottom it clearly states:
Model EADP-260AB
AC Input:
100-240V ~
3.3-1.4A 50/60HZ
DC Output
+12v --- 21.5A
+5v --- 0.6 A
i closed the unit, replaced the cable, with a similar cable just with the proper end socket (this was a cable used for and old pc).
plugged it into the socket (220v) and powered it up. works like a charm.
i am no 14 kid. so this is my review.
