First off, I'm not much of a console gamer. I primarily bought the ps3 as a blu-ray player and as a media player. For those purposes, it has exceeded my expectations!

The ps3 provides an excellent upconversion for existing DVDs as well.

What really impressed me was the Media Server function which allows me to turn on the Media Share option in Windows Vista and it shares my movies and music over my home network so I can watch videos I download on my TV or play my music through my sound system hooked up to my TV.
