no PS2 backward compatibility

Sony is pulling a fast one. I want to buy a PS3, but my only options are on eBay w/o Sony's warranty. If you read the Sony forums many people are having issues with the Blu-Ray Drive breaking. Sony charges $160 to fix if its not in warranty or the oringal owner.

I want the freedom to buy cheap older PS2 games w/o having 2 consoles.
Wi-Fi is great, this would be perfect if it only had backward compatibility.

Stop buying this rip off and send Sony a message.
